The advertising industry was what welcomed me and announced a new dawn in my life when the great hopes and aspirations I had held close to my heart were crushed by my failure to secure a job in the television industry, and when the company I had joined was one I would leave after only a few short months, leaving me engulfed in a darkness of indescribable frustration, disappointment, and anxiety.

Soon after entering the industry, I was assigned a temporary posting at a major advertising agency. In those early days, when I was feeling my way forward with no clear sense of direction, I threw myself wholeheartedly into the work, clinging desperately to clients and senior colleagues for guidance. I was entrusted with sales promotions for some of Japan’s leading cosmetics, beverage, electronics, and IT companies. The stern encouragement, the heated debates in which everyone staked their pride, and the relentless pursuit of excellence that transcended positions and titles all became part of who I am and grew into an irreplaceable asset.

Just as I had finally begun to feel that I had earned my place among the front runners of this industry, a senior colleague who had long supported me suddenly approached me with an unexpected proposal: “Why don’t we start a company together?” Though I struggled with uncertainty and hesitation, I ultimately resolved to entrust the next chapter of my life to that fateful opportunity. After seven years as a company employee, I set sail on a new voyage called DNA.

Both in my professional and personal life, I have sought to approach every encounter and every event with a spirit of respect and gratitude, while continuously striving for self improvement through evolution and challenge. Guided by the founding principles that served as a beacon for our company, I have continued to move forward tirelessly to this day.

Today, there are colleagues who have taken the baton from my hands and are advancing toward unexplored horizons yet to be discovered. When I look at them, what fills my heart is a profound sense of reassurance and confidence in their abilities. It is this conviction that has led me to conclude that the future should be entrusted entirely to them.

With that belief, I have decided to bring my 42 year career as a business leader to a close and retire from active involvement in the company’s management.

As the founder, it is my heartfelt wish that DNA will continue to be a company sustained by people and nurtured by people for generations to come.
